What your child wears plays a big part in the mood and feel of their portraits. To create timeless, beautiful images against our dark background, here are a few simple tips to help you prepare for your session.
What to wear
A plain black top, preferably with long sleeves.
Keep it simple: no patterns, logos or text.
Hair & styling
For girls, we recommend wearing their hair down. If your child prefers a ponytail or braid, a light-coloured hair tie or bow creates a lovely contrast against the dark background.
Most importantly, style your child’s hair in a way that feels natural to them. We want their portraits to reflect who they are!
A little freshen-up
Clean faces help keep the focus on your child’s beautiful features. Feel free to bring some wipes for any last-minute touch-ups.

A little note about the weather
As we work with natural light, the weather plays an important role in creating your portraits. If rain or very grey, overcast skies are forecast, we may need to reschedule your session to find a day with better conditions.
If this happens, I’ll get in touch via WhatsApp or email at least one hour before your scheduled session to discuss an alternative date.
Travelling from further away? If you live more than an hour from the shoot location, please let me know in advance. I’ll do my best to take this into account when making a decision about the weather.
